UGC Approves 101 Universities for Online & Distance Learning in 2025 - The University Grants Commission (UGC) has granted approval to 101 universities and 20 Category-I institutions to provide open and distance learning (ODL) programmes for the academic year 2025-26, set to commence in July-August. In an effort to advance digital education, the commission has also permitted 113 universities to offer online courses. Furthermore, 13 institutions have been authorized to initiate specialized online learning (OL) programmes. The Commission has designated October 15 as the deadline for student admissions into recognized ODL and online programmes. This development follows the UGC’s invitation for applications from qualified Higher Educational Institutions (HEIs) under the UGC (Open and Distance Learning Programmes and Online Programmes) Regulations, 2020, along with its subsequent amendments. Institutions that successfully fulfill the regulatory and quality standards have been approved to provide ODL and online programmes.
DU UG Admissions 2025: On the Spot Mop-Up Round Allocations Today - Delhi University is set to carry out the on-the-spot mop-up round allocations and admissions today, September 23, 2025. This admission process will take place in person at the Delhi University campus. Candidates who have received the invitation must ensure they report in person to the University on the date and time specified in the invitation letter issued by the University. Under no circumstances will a representative on behalf of the candidate be permitted. Entry to the Multipurpose Hall will only be granted based on the Invitation letter sent by the University. Approximately 7,500 seats remain vacant across various colleges and programs despite several admission cycles. Candidates must bring necessary documents including the Invitation Letter, CSAS(UG) Form, Class XII Marksheet, Class X marksheet, valid ID, and any applicable reservation certificate. Candidates are advised to utilize the Delhi Metro (Yellow line) to reach Vishwavidyalaya Metro Station and to carry essentials as needed. Only the candidate and a maximum of two accompanying persons/guardians will be permitted entry into the University premises.
